“My web presence was scattered and outdated. I had incorrect IMDb info and no website. After setting aside the time to do some careful and strategic thinking, then battling my own inertia around pooling information, I hired Tony Howell. He is a wizard! Tony’s professional, prompt, funny, and a great listener. He makes you feel like you are the only one in the world who has a website! Now, I now have ONE location for all my different modes of expression and teaching. I can direct people to my website and people can receive a much more comprehensive picture of who I am, the work I do, as well as the person I am. Thank you!!”
-Victoria Clark, Artist + Teacher, New York, NY
“Tony is awesome. He is the person who first gave me guidance on social media (I'm now almost at 10K followers from about 300.) But the number isn't as important to me as what it has generated. I have received lots of media coverage, connected with major players in the music business, been asked to write for several publications and have met people in person and formed relationships all because of Tony and what he taught me about engaging on Twitter! I returned for the full brand audit—which is worth its weight in gold. Tony is super smart and very up on today's branding and digital platforms. There's a lot of info to take in, but take it step-by-step and you will see great results! Highly recommend.”
-Leslie Becker, Artist + Entrepreneur, New York, NY
“Besides my writers residence online portfolio and published work via search, my web presence was nonexistent. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to come across, and not sure if I was ready. Still, I needed to just do it. It was the right time, in a deeper place. Tony's energy is exceptional and healing and encouraging. Sincerely. It was so fabulous to meet in NYC when we were in final stages, to sit down and feel our collective spirit. He anticipates needs so well that I never felt I was lost for help or alone ... not one moment. His tutorials are exceptional. He cares and you can feel it! Having a website with all of my skills on it was incredibly empowering and allowed me to connect with people. I would say this year has been the biggest year because, while the first edition was excellent, I was not positioned in a place in the world and personally to really see the power of it. Now I have formed a deeper relationship with the whole site and it is alive to me. I update content and send newsletters and get feedback from people who are so impressed that I do so many things. I’m almost a year in Switzerland, and the impression people get from my site is important to networking here and building my entire life. That Swiss people are impressed is a huge compliment!!! Tony and his team are so great and supportive and I am continually humbled by how much they still keep in touch with and care about me as a client. I would recommend them over and over! I’d start with an audit to at least begin to hone your public facing image online. The whole process is ongoing, but we all have to start or at least be aware of the consequences of avoiding it.”
-Emily Alp, Artist, Langenthal, Switzerland
“Before working with Tony, my web presence was abysmal. His full-service instruction and clear expertise filled me with confidence. He simplifies everything and makes it seem easy. My online presence has since grown exponentially from total ignorance to social media popularity. Of course, that carries a ripple effect. If my name was Goldilocks, I’d have to say ‘Everything is just right!’”
-Roma Torre, NY1 Anchor + Theatre Critic, New York, NY
“My web presence was nonexistent, out of date, and not user-friendly. #Sad. Having zero knowledge with site building/computers, I found great ease and joy with meeting Tony. He’s a wonderful person to work with. He delivers exactly what the client wishes and beyond—with personal and unique touches. I have complete confidence in him, his ideas, and could not have wished for a friendlier and creative person. The ability to control my own site, to update whenever I need and have it look professional and beautiful, I could not be any happier with the process. Since working together, I’ve had countless performance and teaching opportunities, including a show on Broadway!"
-Dr. Ray Wong, Pianist, New York, NY
“I did everything myself for the last 10 years. I had pretty basic knowledge of social media and email, but didn't have anything under one umbrella. I was nervous giving up control and paying for an expensive service, but Tony was clear about his vision for me. He also knew the tools to help me there and my past history from an outside perspective. Tony offers clear goals, as well as and outcomes with efficiency and timelines! I now only have ONE inbox for everything. Coaching request forms are more efficient, and I learned how to customize template responses on emails and how to keep my brand and messaging consistent.”
-Natalie Weiss, Artist + Entrepreneur, New York, NY
"Tony Howell is incredible. What an asset he has become in my professional life. I was always of the mindset that someone with a career like mine didn't need a website. Oh boy, was I wrong. Tony helped me to realize that I needed the 'right' website, something especially for me. What a gift he has been—and he's the gift that keeps on giving. I literally have a place where professionals, regular people and employers who are interested in me can go learn what I'm doing and explore what I've done—all in one clean, concise, and very cool place. I only share when I think it's beneficial. Tony Howell's expertise and knowledge would benefit any artist's career. No matter the level—it'll take you higher!"
-Nathan Lee Graham, Artist, New York, NY
“Without a website showing who I was, I was at the mercy of anyone on the internet who wanted to write or post about me. I was controlled by others. Though I was nervous about putting myself out there, I realized it was important for potential collaborators to know who I was from my point of view. Tony is a social media expert on Backstage, which is where I discovered him. After reading his articles, watching his #TellMeTony videos and visiting his website, I knew Tony was the one for me. Tony made the process of creating a website so easy and helped me create my place on the web that I am thrilled with. Tony is clean, clear, concise, and gives you straight answers. He’s direct, creative, professional and trustworthy. He turned what I thought would be a potentially nerve wracking experience into a fun opportunity to explore myself. Not only did Tony deliver a beautiful, well crafted website and set me up on social media platforms (which gave me the opportunity to share who I am with anyone interested in learning more about me), but he exceeded my expectations all the way around. In fact, a known movie director found me on Twitter and offered me a role in his new movie after looking at my website!”
-Mindee de Lacey, Actor, Los Angeles, LA
“I had zero online presence. No website, and a pretty non-existent social media presence. Even the thought of "putting together" a website was overwhelming. I resisted the idea and didn’t take action on it for many years, because it felt like a hurdle that would be too great to overcome. I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea, let alone know where to start. There was also an element of fear about putting myself out there to the world, and not being super clear about how I wanted the world to see me. I knew I couldn't do it alone. I needed to hire someone to help guide me. I met Tony through a mutual friend who's website and web presence I love, and after a meeting Tony and discussing my goals and hearing how he could help me, I said yes! The journey began! I love that Tony helped me narrow down my vision to a very clear and specific set of goals for how I want my web presence to represent me and the work I do. I love that I have to dig deep to get clear with my own goals through a process that is FUN. That's the imperative part of the process that I have enjoyed the most - it is FUN. In my experience (though I know Tony offers a lot more in other areas!) Tony’s provided me with a beautiful website and web presence that is, at it's core, a true, authentic representation of me. Beyond that product, Tony provides a hands on, personalized process that feels safe, supported and inspiring. My site hasn't launched yet - but I've gotten incredible feedback just from the temporary site. I can't wait to see the internet explode once my full site launches! 🤓”
-Sara Brians, Director, Choreographer + Educator, New York, NY
"Tony and his team delivered the website I envisioned—clean, crisp, modern, user-friendly and exciting! They’re extremely helpful once the site is launched as well as with excellent customer service, follow-up and analytics. I also love how many visitors to the site remarked at how easy this redo was to navigate. Thumbs up from everyone!"
-Lea Salonga, Artist, New York, NY
"I'd been wanting to do a website for so long I can’t even tell you, and Tony helped me make this dream come true. He is EXCELLENT at what he does and from the first moment we spoke on the phone, I knew I was gonna love the hell out of him. Tony is efficient, creative, supportive, and WISE. He has a great eye for details and is just literally a dream! I am so proud of this site, and the feedback has been so beautiful and it lets me know it’s doing exactly what we wanted it to do!!! I am so grateful! My website is going to change peoples lives and this truly is my 'dream home'!"
-Sierra Boggess, Artist, New York, NY
“My web presence was a mess. Scattered. I basically had two businesses that should have been one, but I was nervous having to uproot what I had to start something new and from the ground up. Tony helped me rethink who I am, what my business does, and clearly presented me a path to success. Realizing that what I had was garbage, and because what Tony said made sense (especially in the clear and persuasive way he delivered the idea to me), I took advantage of his FULL. SERVICE. AWESOMENESS. Tony dedicated time to me and made me feel like I was the only thing that mattered until the project was done. He streamlined my life and my client base has grown exponentially and I owe a lot of that to my website. My website is now a TOOL for me to use to engage clients. It's more than JUST a portfolio. I’ve gotten so many compliments --- SO MANY. People literally look at my site and go ‘Oh wow, You're legit!’ If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy professional to assist you in identifying and executing your brand and making your website so kick ass—then Tony is absolutely your guy. He just gets it. He’s a master of the craft of online: website, SEO, brand execution, and understanding your audience. He makes clear what was once a muddy mess in my brain. Tony's services are worth the investment!!"
-JJ Ignotz, Photographer, New York, NY
“I didn't have an online showroom. Yes, I had my social media channels but there wasn't a clear way to get my services, read testimonials, get more of my voice + vibe and clearly be able to connect with people who were looking for me online. I knew I needed it, but often you think if you just "throw something together," it will be good enough. I knew I needed to invest in my business in a real way. You can't mess around with your online presence! There is no one better than Tony to combine aesthetic, functionality, and technology for a compelling look online. Period. He makes it seamless: website creation and online presence coaching that captures your voice and vibe so you stand out online! I love how hard Tony works to make sure you walk away feeling fully equipped and prepared to flip the switch. Within the first month of having my new site up, I made the money back. Prospects went to the site and loved the look and feel of it. It was easy to contact me and understand my services. It was the best investment I made last year!
-Marisa Corcoran, Copywriter, Atlanta, GA
“I have worked with Tony for three years now on two different websites; my personal website and one for my one-person show. In both cases, the working experience was one of the best I’ve ever had. It's rare to find someone who is both an intuitive, thoughtful, elegant and sensitive artist and a responsible, ethical, visionary businessperson. Extremely rare. Every time I connect with Tony I always feel empowered and enlightened. Also, I feel that everything is done with integrity. Tony is straightforward, responsive, passionate, and full of ideas on the one hand, but also able to combine his expertise with the very individual and unique person and artist that each one of his clients represents. I don’t feel that Tony has a 'cookie cutter' mentality but instead hears, sees, and really creates a new vision for each client. I always felt and feel comfortable, heard, and as though we are working together as a team. He works with remarkable organization, meets (and often is done in advance of) all deadlines, sets up extremely clear goals and expectations, and to top it all off, includes a way for his clients to learn how to maintain their own sites. He is a wonderful and patient teacher. Plus he makes it fun! His professionalism, responsiveness, warmth, flawless design sense, impeccable technical execution, and great taste make the investments reasonable and appropriate. In every way, the websites represent to the world how I want to be seen and considered. I know that, whatever happens in the rest of my career and this profession, I am in the strongest and most capable hands possible when it comes to my online presence. Tony and his team are thoughtful, tasteful, intelligent, and provide clear results that NEVER HAVE FAILED to impress everyone who sees it. I’ve had many casting directors, fellow actor friends, and other professionals remark on how beautiful, clear, elegant and informative my personal site is. Our show booked a performance and secured a very reputable publicist because she was so impressed by the site! I feel absolutely confident when people look at my website, they are getting as true a feel of who and what I am as they can without me actually being in the room with them. Tony has helped me, and continues to help me, tell my story online with dignity and elegance. And his own example of hard work and constant invention is inspiring. I would (and already have) recommend them to anyone.”
-Kate Fuglei, Actor + Writer, Los Angeles, LA
“I wanted to collaborate with a strong and facile mind that didn't work like mine. I chose Tony. Over the years, I had taught myself enough about coding (THAT was the old days) and, later, about the available platforms and I had built a series of serviceable websites on my own. I was an early adopter of both Twitter and Instagram, but my use of both—much like my DIY websites—was purely by intuition. Once I had time and money to devote to setting up a better online presence (and once I'd bumped into Tony IRL on the A train), I was happy to dig right in. That real life encounter on the A train made all of the difference. I liked Tony’s energy in-person even more than I liked his online presence—the fact that your real self and online self were in agreement showed me you knew the importance of truth in digital representation. Tony offers you a very sophisticated tool (made up of many tools, really) that you can use to honestly and accurately represent yourself. He’s comfortable making room for opinions on form and content even as he was strong and clear in making sure I was getting the full value of his expertise.Honestly, I was a little sad when we launched. I actually had that feeling I used to have when I completed a particularly great directing project when I would look up at my collaborators and say, 'That was cool! What else can we do?' My agents and my friends in casting have given me nothing but excellent feedback on the site. In my coaching practice, I know it's brought me clients. They've said so. I get 25% of my clients from web search and recommendations. Nearly every single one of those clients mentions my website and my social media feed as a contributing factor in their hiring me.”
-Christopher Gurr, Actor + Coach, New York, NY
"Tony was so great with giving us actionable ideas and information that we have so, so much explore. We got everything that we were hoping for and more! His expertise is thorough, relevant and so valuable! We've been able to further refine and streamline our entire social media approach, as well as implement some fresh and fun content ideas. I have and will continue to recommend Tony to anyone looking to refine or beef up their digital marketing and branding strategy."
-Jason Weston, Photographer, New York, NY
"Tony is fabulous and a world of knowledge on all things social. Everything he does is brilliant. Plus, he's fun! In order to do this social thing right, I simply cannot do it all myself. There's no end to how much I can learn from him and the ever-changing world of social media."
-Mary Anna Dennard, CEO, College Audition Coach, Dallas, TX
"I’ve learned how to handle information efficiently. It’s like Tony upgraded our tool from mallets and stone to scalpels and lasers. Though it was a very hectic time in our season when we had him, we still were able to streamline many aspects of the organization’s media. We can now confidently focus on the avenues of communication with our audiences which were not as clear before. Simplifying what can seem chaotic to a system we can manage (that starts with where we actually are and then growing from there) was a gift."
-Marcus Paul James, Marketing Director, Broadway Inspirational Voices, New York, NY
"When Tony reminded me to 'keep it simple,' I feel like I got my real life back! Creating a clear message for my social media audience is key and way more effective. Doing this has helped me get off my computer/smart phone and get on with enjoying my personal, private life!"
-Gabrielle Ruiz, Los Angeles
“Tony is a man of many talents. He is the perfect blend of career coach, social media marketing guru and technical, design expert. We all know creative people have several passions and are trained to wear all the hats. While my various pursuits can feeling overwhelming, Tony helped me zero in on naming goals that live at the intersection of Art & Commerce. His ability to evaluate my digital presence and provide a comprehensive road map is extraordinary. I’ve been craving a digital overhaul and my session with Tony was exactly the motivation I needed to start 2018 with a bang!”
-Mara Jill Herman, Actor + Entrepreneur, New York, NY
“When I decided to go for it, I knew Tony was my guy to go to to make it happen. First off, I knew Tony from our work together in a show, and I knew that if I ever wanted to launch a project, he would be an invaluable resource. He’s nailing it! Tony’s the best marketing, business, promotional know-how out there for artists! He explained everything I had a question for and more! I love the clarity and the artist-centric mentality that Tony brings to all he does. And most of all, he leads with his heart. I actually have a following and an identity that I understand and can encapsulate, in just a few sentences, as opposed to some vague idea with no real world application.”
-Bulletproof Bette, Writer, New York, NY
"The process took longer than I thought, but that was my doing. I was slow to do my homework and turn it in. In the end, the website looks fantastic. I’m very pleased with it and it’s getting me more work! It has the professional look that my career needs to move it up the ladder of success. I’m now getting booked for roles without even auditioning. I’ve had CD’s check out my site and then offer me the work. Woohoo!"
-Kelly L. Moran, Actor + Entrepreneur, Washington, D.C.
“I had an online presence, but it wasn’t doing much for me. Disparate parts and pages made for a bit of a clunky experience for the viewer. I didn’t have a cohesive product to put out to the public. I was slightly hesitant about the cost associated with the services. I was going from a web setup that cost me nothing to a web, social media, and branding strategy. That can be scary for the wallet. Ultimately you need to make an investment in yourself. You also get what you pay for… and if you want to be taken seriously in this industry, you need to look the part, especially in the digital age. The product provided here is more than worth the investment. Tony and his team provide a high quality, striking product that pulls a viewer into the site and encourages them to interact. They make sure that your site, branding, and social media are uniquely you! Everything is thought through to provide a cohesive product. Even if you are not requesting social media services, the team thinks through your future and sets you up for the day when you want to include social media in your brand. There isn’t a single person who has interacted with my website who hasn’t told me how much they enjoyed its refreshing simplicity and it’s honesty. Fans of Jersey Boys have been able to interact with me through an awesome brand that is truthful and organic. Thank you for the dedication and care you put into your projects, Tony.”
-Mark Edwards, Actor + Writer, New York, NY
“Before I took Tony's Social Artist Training, I had a basic online presence with a website and social media platforms. I didn't have much knowledge as to how to bring myself to my website. I knew I liked pink, so my website was very pink, but I wouldn't call it an outstanding representation of myself. I wasn't sure if I'd have the time to progress through a weekly course. I realized that I needed to MAKE time to progress through a weekly course. I loved the weekly trainings, and then getting to attend the live Q&A with Tony and a guest each week to get a chance to ask questions that came up was extremely helpful. I felt like I got a lot of personalized attention which can be rare in a group setting. I remember in one of the courses, Tony talked about this comedian he worked with who had an amazing picture of her face smushed against a glass door, but she wasn't using it anywhere on her website which was more uniform in terms of material. He suggested that she put that picture front and center and I remember something clicking. Tony doesn’t just teach basic do's and don'ts, but he really works to help everyone capture their unique essence online and that's what I love most. With the help of my incredible sister, I took what Tony taught us and completely revamped my website. It matches the professional that I am and want to be, and is a great extension of me. Tony's advice to me when I first started the course, was to distill my goals down to one goal to focus on at first. Once you know your goal then you can define your audience. I'd been describing myself as a real-life Kimmy Schmidt meets Amy Adams in Enchanted, and it took me some time, but I booked my first co-star role on none other than Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. And I produced my own short-film as a princess in NYC that screened at a film festival. I am still much stronger with Instagram than Twitter, but I've learned how to use both to my advantage in terms of connecting with my audience and furthering relationships. They're pretty powerful tools once you learn how to use each one!”
-Rebecca Knowles, Actor + Producer, New York, NY
“While a website seemed like it would cost a lot of money upfront, and an expensive thing to upkeep, it is where the business is headed... and it’s a way of competing (online presence management). Tony knows what he is doing and provided exactly what I needed. He's able to capture the essence of the artist through the website. The work he and his team do is top notch. I had a very strong goal going into this process. Three days after we went live I had achieved that goal—booking work at major orchestras due to Tony’s help. I can't call it a magic pill, but I can say that this website enabled me to reach that goal in an expedited amount of time. I now have the tools and know how to manage my online presence and continue to grow it. I love the clean and easy to understand formats and I have. Tony is just the right choice when it comes to this stuff!”
-Chris Blem, Actor, New York, NY
"Tony is a great guy who has a ton of knowledge to offer. Take advantage of his skills. He redid my website in a very short amount of time and the following week, I signed with an agent. I have no doubt that his work helped me accomplish this huge goal. Thank you Tony for all that you do!!!"
-Kim Shriver, Actor, New York, NY
“Before meeting Tony, our website was ‘there’ and sadly out-of-date. Far from current functionality and taste, and not serving our needs. Finding and choosing a website designer is such a scary process! So much rides on the communication between designer and client, and the visions of each. How do you know when you begin that you’ll be a good fit together? Tony was recommended to us by a trusted friend in the business, and we were immediately impressed with his knowledge of the world of online branding, and the vision and energy he brings to the process. It has been an immense pleasure working Tony Howell to create new branding, design and a marketing plan for our new headed-for-Broadway musical. From start to finish, Tony is endlessly creative, impressively organized, thoroughly knowledgeable, always responsive, amazingly quick, wonderfully bright, always cheerful, and completely businesslike yet warmly personable. He thinks in broad strokes as well as the fine details needed to bring it all to life. And, so delightfully, is a pure joy to work with. We were so impressed with Tony’s collaborative spirit, fast turn-around, and constant communication. He organizes his time beautifully so we know exactly what to expect and when. We always feel so well taken care of by Tony and his team! We’ve gotten so much more than we bargained for and are so grateful for the full range of vision and services Tony provides. So much more than a website, for sure!! Tony provides a path for us to expand our business using the array of great tools he provides. Tony’s facility in the online world has brought us to a new appreciation for what can be done online to create a presence and promote our work. In ways we hadn’t imagined! There is much for us to explore and Tony is a sure and patient guiding hand in the process. We recommend Tony and his work without reservation and look forward to working with him for our upcoming projects!”
-Debra Wakefield and Richard B. Evans, Seacastle Music Company, San Francisco, CA
"I’d tried to do things on my own for awhile, but it didn't look as professional as I wanted. I was sending people to my website, but it continued to give off the impression that I was young and still figuring things out. I was afraid of the investment of brand building and management, and I was nervous about not being totally in control. After seeing Tony’s keynote presentation at MTEA, I was incredibly impressed. I knew that he was MUCH more knowledgeable than I could ever be and that he had worked with people in my exact same position. Both of my websites have been brought up in conversations for job interviews or just meeting a new friend. I love that they are clean, accessible and that I was given the tools to do everything myself in the future. I love directing people to my websites because I know they will learn a lot about me as a person and the sense of professionalism I bring to each project. I also like that I have learned more about what builds a brand and website! I can go on to share it with my students as they enter the business.”
-Jessica M. Humphrey, Actor, Producer + Educator, Fort Worth, TX
“My web presence was amateur at best. While my website had the material/information needed, it definitely was not any sort representation of what my work as an actor is and who I am. Honestly, I wasn’t very knowledgeable about how important an online presence can be for your career, whatever it may be, and how to have it done correctly—to represent you the best way you can be represented. I was also very concerned about the financial commitment. I ended up saying yes because I felt like Tony took the time to get to know me not just on a professional level, but also on a personal. He made it easy to connect and communicate. He made sure that every doubt/concern about the project, including the financial commitment, was acknowledged, explained and answered. The process is like a friendship with lots of good chats and laughter. Together, you create an incredible virtual home that seamlessly balances and blends who you are professionally and personally. My website represents me, both personally and professionally, and I absolutely LOVE it! Everything! But the journey to the finished result was incredible as well. Tony took the time to establish a connection, authentically took interest in knowing me.Ever since my website was launched, the amount of responses back from submissions, auditions, callbacks have at least doubled. Not only that, but I also have more confidence about my work, especially when showcasing it online. We created something that is representative of the truest form of who I am.”
-Victor Souffrant, Actor, New York, NY
“I had no online set up before Tony except for a Facebook page I never visited. I was terrified of social media and I was afraid I was presumptuous that anyone would be interested in my webpage. Tony convinced me that as an artist and teacher, I had a voice, that my work, past and present, was utterly unique, and that he could help me put myself out there through a coordinated use of a webpage and social media. Tony offers artists and entrepreneurs incredible vision, knowledge, and business savvy, with the ability to meet each client at their most human point of need—guidance to define who they are, what they do, and how to successfully market that unique self and service to the world through social media. He helps you find a voice the world wants to hear and pay for!”
-Michael Hayden, Actor + Educator, Chicago, IL
