"Take every opportunity that comes. The scarier and daunting the challenge, the more growth that can come from it."
-Dr. Raymond Wong
Dr. Raymond (Ray) Wong is a New York based pianist with a full performance (An American in Paris on Broadway et al.) and teaching schedule (Juilliard and private studio). I was honored to collaborate with this accomplished young musician and am thrilled with his results... thus far!
Why piano? What called you to this profession?
The beautiful sound of the piano and its innate ability to be a soloist as well as an entire orchestra makes me feel powerful and joyful.
What are you currently working on or towards?
An American in Paris on Broadway and the First National Tour.
What are you most known for?
What do you want to be known for?
A pianist that blurs the line between Classical and Broadway.
Who’ve been some of the mentors/teachers instrumental to your success?
My inspirational teachers at Juilliard - Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman, Cameron Stowe, and my teachers at Manhattan School of Music - Jeffrey Cohen, André-Michel Schub have given me the mental and physical skills to achieve my goals.
If you could offer advice to your younger self or young aspiring artists, what would it be?
Take every opportunity that comes. The scarier and daunting the challenge, the more growth that can come from it.

What do you love about the digital age we live in?
The ease and speed in which we can listen to masters and artists of the past.
What do you hate about the digital age we live in?
The speed and eagerness of people who like to spread negativity and pessimism.
Why did you choose to “get creative” with us?
I was inspired by a site designed by Tony, and it has been on my ‘to-do’ list for a long time. The timing couldn’t have been better.
How would you describe the process/experience?
WONDERFUL! The ability to control my own site, to update whenever I need and have it look professional and beautiful, I could not be any happier with the process.
What responses or results have you received from RayWong.com?
I’ve gotten several jobs and emails just from the website, from prospective students, performances, to a show on Broadway!
